getting to know you

First, I will want to know all the exciting details about your wedding or event!  We'll chat via email to start (there may be a questionnaire involved) so I can better understand what you're looking for and how I can help.  Depending on what we learn about each other, we can take the next steps remotely via phone/email or we can arrange to meet in person so you can see real life examples.  The process is fluid…we can adapt as we go along.  We can evaluate the best way to proceed depending on your unique circumstances and requirements.

We’ll review together any inspiration you have – color palette, style, theme, look+feel, etc.  Are you having a fancy black-tie affair?  A casual apple orchard rustic wedding?  Or perhaps a sleek, airy seaside wedding?  We’ll also discuss the pieces you may need and how to communicate various details to your guests.  We’ll discuss your budget, the timeline, and how the process works.

If you aren’t sure where you want to start, I will guide you through the creative process leveraging curated images from the internet or examples of things I have created for previous clients.

the finances of it all

Once you have selected all of your desired design elements, I will prepare a custom quote specific to your needs.

Once you have reviewed the quote and zeroed in on the various pieces and design elements you wish to include, I will ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit to being the design and ordering process!!  How exciting!   Typically the balance will be due once your stationery is complete, perfect, and ready for pick up.

design begins

At this point we have gathered all of your design elements and composed your wording.  Now it's up to me to pull it all together into a one of a kind creation just for you and your partner!  This part of the process can be the most complex.  I will first present you with a draft of the complete design within 3 to 5 business days, and as necessary, we will tweak it until it is just right!  You will see things numerous times before anything officially goes to print.  Once your order has been submitted to print, there can be no further changes to wording, design or quantity.  So this is where the rubber meets the road.  Most often the design and creative process from the time you first contact me averages 2 to 3 weeks.  Add this time onto the production times referenced below.

proceed to production!

Once the design is agreed upon, the files and instructions will be sent to the printer and materials will be ordered.  The lead time until completion averages about 4 weeks after proof approval!   If you have chosen to have me address your guest envelopes, I will need your complete address list before we send your order to production.  We'll sort out timing and deadlines together.  Plan for the entire process to take anywhere from 5 to 10 weeks when all is said and done.

voila!  the finished product

When your order arrives, I will inspect everything to ensure it is all perfect and printed according to our instructions.  If there are items you have contracted with me to assemble for you, I will complete that process as well.  The balance due on your order will need to be paid either when your order is picked up in person or before I ship it to you.
